Along with Trader Joe’s, ALDI is another great grocery store to shop for kid snacks. Did you know that both stores are actually owned by the same company?
While Trader Joe’s is known for a lot of fun foods, which are consistently good, I would say ALDI is known for its great prices. In addition, they have really upped their game in organic foods and really have some great options for healthy snacks.
So let’s get to it! Here are some of our favorite kid snacks from ALDI!
Trail Mix
As I mentioned in my Trader Joe’s post, trail mix is pretty much only for Lars in our house, as we don’t give Soren nuts yet because of the choking hazard. Trail mix at ALDI is a lot cheaper than at TJ’s – this bag was only $2.29!
Dried Fruit
Dried cranberries, blueberries, and raisins are all favorites in our household, and I’ve never seen them cheaper than at ALDI!
Pumpkin Seeds
Another win for the fruit and nut section of ALDI! I actually bought these for a recipe I wanted to make, but it turns out my boys love snacking on them, too.
Applesauce/Fruit and Veggie Pouches
Applesauce pouches are one of those things that I designate only for on-the-go. Let me rephrase – when we are on-the-go but NOT in the car. If you’ve ever given an 18 month old a pouch in the car, you might know why. Anyways, I love that this kind has a variety of fruit and even snuck in some sweet potatoes. We also love their unsweetened applesauce pouches, which are GMO-free.
Cheese
My kids went through a phase of not liking cheese, but in this moment we are back on the string cheese train. This pack was only $2.49! We also picked up some cheese cubes to make ham and cheese cube skewers for lunches. Apparently food is more fun when on skewers…who knew!
Nut and Date Bars
These Elevation bars are pretty much like LARA Bars in that the two ingredients are peanuts and dates, but these are much cheaper. I wish I had bought five more boxes of these this time because my kids and I both love these!
Hummus
Always a favorite of ours!
Dessert Hummus
Wait, WHAT?! Yep you saw that correctly. Brownie Batter Hummus. At first I was all “ewww” but you have to give it a try. It’s delicious with pretzels, animal cookies, and fruit!
Multi-Grain Chips
I’m a sucker for tortilla chips and it turns out my kids love them too. I love these multi-grain chips which are full of flaxseed, brown rice, sunflower seeds, and whole grains! Another bonus – they’re organic and GMO-free. WOO!
Okay, that’s it for our Favorite ALDI Kid Snacks! Other favorites that we buy from ALDI are fresh organic fruits and veggies, frozen organic fruits and veggies, and a variety of organic meats. Like I said, their selection has really grown over the last couple of years!
