My kids, like many, love their snacks. I’m on a mission to decrease the number of bars that I give them for snacks, and have other options to offer them. In particular, options that they will actually get excited about. These Peanut Butter Oat Balls are right up their snack alley!
Don’t get me wrong – Z Bars, granola bars, fruit bars, etc. all have their place in my life. I just always hate when my kids ask for one at home because if we’re at home, we have more options!
I make a batch of oat balls of some sort almost every week. This week, it was a good ‘ol standby – the peanut butter oat balls. My boys LOVE peanut butter, and especially love these peanut butter oat balls when I throw in a handful of chocolate chips. Ya gotta live a little, right?!
What Ingredients are in Peanut Butter Oat Balls?
The ingredients for Peanut Butter Oat Balls are pretty basic – oats, peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, and chia seeds. Oh and chocolate chips, if you’re feeling crazy. These are ingredients that we pretty much always have in our pantry, which makes them great for making whenever I have a spare 15 minutes.
You simply combine all of the ingredients in a big bowl (Lars loves to help make these!) and mix it together. Form them into balls and refrigerate. That’s it. So easy and, in my opinion, a better option for my kids to snack on than a pre-packaged bar.
